The Many Faces of Islam... You know I've been enlightened and surprised to find out there is actually a group of Muslims that are apologizing for 9/11. There is HOPE! Apology for 9/11/01 from The Free Muslim Coalition Against Terrorism Iraq The Model...Wednesday, April 19, 2006 Kill us, but you won't enslave us. Last week we stopped writing for a while and we apologized to our readers saying that we lost a close friend but we didn't want to give more details as we were overwhelmed by an exceptional situation and a huge shock. We also were afraid from writing more about this subject for security concerns but now I think I must share this with you as it's part of the pain and suffering my nation is going through. Last week our little and peaceful family was struck by the tragic loss of one of its members in a savage criminal act of assassination. The member we lost was my sister's husband who lived with their two little children in our house. He was a brilliant young doctor with a whole future awaiting him, the couple were the top graduates in their branch of specialty. They had to travel abroad to get their degrees and the war started while they were there but months after Saddam fallen they decided to come back to help rebuild the country and serve their people. We welcomed them with all love and care, we
would sit and talk everyday about our hopes and dreams for a better
future for the new generation and for their two little children. We
realized that time is needed before they could have a secure and
prosperous life and we were satisfied with the little we could make
because we believed in the future. We didn't know or anticipate that cruel times
were waiting for a chance to assassinate the dream and kill the
future. We are trying hard to close the wound, summon
our patience and protect those still alive while we look forward to
the future that we hope can bring peace for us. We have vowed to follow the steps of our true
martyrs and we will raise the new generation to continue the march,
these children of today are the hope and the future. They will keep trying to steal life from us and we will keep fighting back and we will keep exposing them but not with bullets and swords, we never carried arms and we will never do because we are not afraid and because we are not weak unlike those cowards who know no language but that of treason. April will always be there to remind us of the
sacrifice and remind us of the dream we fight for. Oppression of Women in Afghanistan Dr. Suraya Pakzad, the head of Voice of Women, an organization that fights against all forms of social, political and economic exploitation of women, said, "Women are only free in Kabul, and that too, in certain areas of the city. If you travel just 20 miles away from Kabul, you will see that women are still suffering." After Sept. 11, many called for dialogue on Islam. Many rightfully emphasize the Quran's beautiful verses, to kill a life is akin to killing the world and Allah does not like aggressors, and so ascribe terrorism to political grievance. Yet terrorists invoke religious inspiration..? What's Wrong With the Arab World? Are the Arabs Stupid? Syria occupies Lebanon even today and no one wails about the "occupation." Iraq invades Kuwait and it is easily forgiven and forgotten. Shiites in Saudi Arabia are second-class citizens, to say the least. But Israel, ah Israel; if Israel kills even a single civilian by accident in pursuit of terrorists who blow up children, the charges of "genocide" go up like flags on a football field. An Unconventional Arab Viewpoint... What bugs me is the way they show no appreciation for just how tolerant and open-minded and non-judgmental the American people really are toward them and the Arab and Muslim world. The Silent Muslim Majority IS the Problem
By
Nonie Darwish
I am overwhelmed with sadness over the state of the Muslim world. I am looking at the photograph of an Iranian woman about to be stoned to death in Iran, buried to her waste in dirt to keep her from running away. A few weeks ago, I read about a 14 year-old Iranian boy who died after receiving 85 lashes for the ‘sin’ of eating in public in the month of Ramadan. Salah Uddin Choudhury has been in prison for one year in Bangladesh for the ‘crime’ of urging his nation to recognize Israel and advocating interfaith dialogue among equals as well as warning against the growing power of Islamists in Bangladesh. What are Muslim community activists in America doing about their homegrown brutal human rights violations? They are silent. (Follow this link for rest of article) US Gives Saudi Persecution a Pass Persecution in Saudi Arabia is alive and well..."It's become clear that this extremist, rigid, Wahhabist interpretation of Islam that is practiced and promulgated in Saudi Arabia is an actual security threat to the U.S.," she said, noting that 15 of the 19 Sept. 11 hijackers were Saudi. "[The administration] undercuts our security concerns by soft-pedaling that." Why We're Going to Liberate Iraq "Saddam Hussein was also the first leader to use chemical weapons against his own population, silencing more than 60 villages and 30,000 citizens with poisonous gas. Between 1983 and 1988 alone, he murdered more than 30,000 Iraqi citizens with mustard gas and nerve agents. Several international organizations claim that he killed more than 60,000 Iraqi citizens with chemicals, including large numbers of women and children." How many people did Saddam kill? In the end, if an American-led invasion ousts Mr. Hussein, and especially if an attack is launched without convincing proof that Iraq is still harboring forbidden arms, history may judge that the stronger case was the one that needed no inspectors to confirm: that Saddam Hussein, in his 23 years in power, plunged this country into a bloodbath of medieval proportions, and exported some of that terror to his neighbors. Just as Hussein has shown an unsurpassed capacity for cruelty and brutality, the Iraqi regime has a stunning record of environmental ruin. Links... Revealed: A Christian Arab's View of Islam
(Book) In Islam Revealed, Dr.
Anis Shorrosh explains the driving force behind the fanatical, as well as the moderate and
conservative sects of Islam. Drawing on his experience as a Palestinian-born Arab
Christian and years of research and study, Dr. Shorrosh takes a hard look at an
ever-growing religion that currently numbers 900 million members. Secrets of the Koran: Revealing Insight into Islam's Holy Book, by: Don Richardson (Book) "The vast majority of Muslims are not bad people. Don encourages honest, peace-loving Muslims to reexamine their own faith, to really read the Koran for themselves. Instead of just listening to what the clerics tell you, think for yourself and make your own decision." Why I Am Not a Muslim Today (Book) Warraq, a former Muslim who now lives in Ohio, examines the major principles of the world's second largest religion, presenting a less than flattering picture of the faith and its followers. He analyzes factors that influenced the writing of the Koran, chronicles the rise of Islam, and criticizes the dark side of the faith with chapters on the Salman Rushdie affair, the oppression of women in Muslim society, the authoritarian nature of Islamic law, and the suppression of basic rights in many Muslim countries.
